Roger Green

Roger L. Green, age 78, of Grove, OK, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home after many years of illness.

 
Roger was born on June 1, 1945, in Claremore, OK to Alvie and Beatrice (Haggerty) Green. He spent his childhood in Chelsea, Ok and graduated from Chelsea High in 1963.

 
One of Roger's proudest achievements was his service as a Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. His bravery and selflessness were commendable, and his contributions to his country will never be forgotten.

On May 27, 1966, Roger married the love of his life, Patty Jackson, in Chelsea, OK.

Roger attended Oklahoma State Technical School and became a Construction Manager working for companies such as, Safeway, Homeland and Walmart in Bella Vista, AR.

 
While Roger was known for his hard work, he will be most remembered for his incredible sense of humor. He had a knack for making everyone around him laugh, and his witty jokes and playful nature brightened every room he entered. He was, indeed, the life of the party and a true jokester at heart.
In his leisure time, Roger loved to explore the great outdoors. Camping, boating, and traveling in the RV were some of his and Patty’s favorite activities. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooner fan.

 
Roger leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and adventure. His memory will forever be cherished by his friends and loved ones. May he rest in peace, knowing that he brought immense joy to the lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janice Aday.

Left to cherish Roger’s memory, wife of 57 years, Patty Green, sons, Kevin Green (Julie) of Grove, OK and Heath Green (Melisa) of Adair, Ok, brother James Green (Jane) of Neosho, MO, grandchildren, Sara Enyart (Eric), Katie Dietz (Kory), Brock Green and Breanne Green; great grandchildren, Emmett and Sadie Enyart.
