Floyd Twyford

Floyd Fredrick Twyford, age 73, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation in Springfield, Missouri. He was born December 8, 1952, in Elkhart, Kansas, the son of Floyd Ezra and Flossie Catherine (Cloud) Twyford.

Floyd attended school in Miller, Missouri and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a supervisor for the Lawrence County Road District.








Floyd is survived by four sisters, Margie Simerly of Marionville, Missouri, Mary McMahan and her husband, Clarence, of Strafford, Missouri, Cathy Sybert and her husband, James, of Aurora, Missouri and Faye Cauthon and her husband, Steve, of Camdenton, Missouri; three brothers, Larry Twyford and his wife, Susie, of Bucyrus, Missouri, Robert Twyford of Marshalltown, Iowa and Charlie Wilsey of Stilwell, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Freddie Brashers, of Marionville, Missouri and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd, and Flossie; two sisters, Carol Lowery and Nina Brashers and one nephew, Chad Twyford.








A visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, in Springfield, Missouri.
