Wanda Emerson

Wanda Ruth Emerson of Diamond, Missouri, entered into eternity on June 18, 2026. She was 84. She was born on August 18, 1941, in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to Lester Leroy French and Mabel Evelyn (Mitchell) French.

Wanda attended and graduated from Ponca City High School.

On May 18, 1973, she was united in marriage to Paul Bruce Emerson in Alva, Oklahoma and he survives of the home. They worked together as over the road truck drivers for 25 years, traveling across the United States before retiring.

Wanda was a generous person, who was very driven with an incredible work ethic and independent in so many ways. She was an excellent seamstress and lovingly made much of her children’s clothing as they were growing up. She also enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching. Her hands created many treasured blankets for her grandchildren, and each one was made with love and care.

She loved spending time fishing, tending to her flowers, especially peonies and irises, and attending her grandchildren’s special events. She enjoyed baking pies and trying new dessert recipes for her family to enjoy.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Bruce Emerson; four children, Tammy Stieber of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Mark Greer and wife, Tammy, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Peggy Tuter and husband, Randy, of Diamond, Missouri, and Roy Greer of Ponca City, Oklahoma, one stepson, Bruce Code of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, one sister, Velma Hamm of Arkansas City, Kansas; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Patsy, Sonny, and Johnnie.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri. Roger Flint will officiate.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers with Integrity Hospice and Home Instead for the care they provided Wanda during her times of need.
