(From Clark Funeral Home)Sharon Joan Hoagland was born on July 12, 1943, the daughter of Charles W. and Merribell R. (Rehm) Putnam.
She entered into rest on June 17, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 82. Sharon was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Joplin High School in 1961. She worked in the restaurant industry and owned and operated the Village Café in Joplin and was a homemaker.
Sharon enjoyed bowling and gardening and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grove, Oklahoma. Sharon married Forrest Hoagland and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2019.
She is survived by a son, Tony L. Hoagland of Joplin; granddaughter, Michelle D. Chaney and husband, John of Evansville, Indiana; sister, Linda Emmert of Seneca, Missouri; brother-in-law, Frank Hoagland of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters in law, Debbie Johnson and Mary Dutton, both of Joplin and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Franklin ‘Frankie’ Hoagland. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin and those serving as pallbearers will be Randy Emmert, Isaiah Garvin, Bryan Emmert, Haven England, Preston England, Darin England, Dalton England and Bob Vickers.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Contributions in memory of Sharon may be made to Grove First Baptist Church.
