Norma Boyer

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Norma Jean Boyer passed away on June 13, 2026, at the Community of Wildwood in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 92. Norma was born on April 2, 1934, in Gravette, Arkansas to Ben and Mary January.

Norma was a graduate of Neosho High School with the class of 1952. She was an office manager for Cardwell Memorial Hospital in Stella and then held the same position for McGinty’s Department Store on Neosho square. For several years she enjoyed her position at McGinty’s. She was happy to serve as a greeter at the Neosho Wal-Mart for a few years before starting in the payroll department at La-Z-Boy where she retired after many years of dedicated service.

In her younger years, Norma was an avid bowler, and a valuable member of several different teams. Norma was civic-minded and volunteered her time by serving as a member and president of the American Businesswomen’s Association, and as the president of the Neosho Recreational Department Board.

When she wasn’t working or volunteering, Norma, or Grandma, as her favorite people called her, spent her time baking brownies and stocking her freezer with orange creamsicles. Her grandchildren knew she would always have a sweet treat ready for them when they came to visit. She loved her family deeply and they all have fond memories to look back on with Grandma.

Norma was a woman of the Baptist faith. She attended Northside Baptist Church in Neosho when she was able. She had a creative side and loved to sew and make various crafts. She enjoyed the simple things in life and found the most joy in her faith and family.

She is survived by her son, John Boyer (Mary) of Neosho, Missouri; her daughter, Linda Casady (Craig) of Stella, Missouri; her grandson, Cody Casady (Olivia) of Eagle Rock, Missouri; her great-grandchildren, Luke Casady (Lana) and Laynee Casady; one great-great-grandson Baby Casady on the way; her granddaughter Callie Casady Barbre (Allen) of Granby, Missouri; and great grandchildren, Knox and Beau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mary January; her sister, Lola Lee; and her two brothers, Claude Dee January and Dale January.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00am at Neosho IOOF Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri.
