Roy Dick

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Roy Lenard Dick, known to many simply as Roy, passed away on June 24, 2026, in Bentonville, Arkansas, at the age of 81.

He was born on July 19, 1944, in Hutchinson, Kansas, and he carried the values of hard work, family, and quiet determination throughout his life. Roy attended high school and began building a life marked by steady effort, practical skill, and a deep appreciation for the simple things that matter most.

Roy spent much of his working life as a butcher and meat cutter, serving customers and communities through Dillon's Grocery in Kansas and later Consumer Grocery in Arkansas. His work reflected the kind of person he was. He was careful, capable, and committed to providing honest service.

Outside of work, Roy was a creative man with a gift for craftsmanship. He was a woodworker and craftsman who found satisfaction in building, shaping, and creating with his hands. He built his own home and completed many wood projects over the years, each one reflecting his patience, talent, and imagination. He had a practical mind, an inventive spirit, and an ability to turn ideas into lasting results. His work with wood stood as a lasting expression of who he was. Roy never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping and sharing life with his wife Delores and his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Michele (Ruckman) Dick, his son, Melton “Jake” Dick, his daughter, Shannon Michele Ellis, and his brothers, Robert Dick, Jim Dick, and Johnny Dick. He is survived by his wife, Delores (Hale) Dick, his son, Roy Dick Jr., his daughter, Coral Moyer, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. No formal services are planned at this time.
