Ronnie Tubbs

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Ronnie Dale Tubbs, age 80, passed away on June 20, 2026, at Communities of Wildwood in Joplin, Missouri.

Ronnie was born on August 17, 1945, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Frank Tubbs II and Eva Tubbs. He married the love of his life, Barbara Leader, on April 9, 1971, and together they were blessed with three daughters and many years of cherished memories.

A man who rarely sat still, Ronnie found great purpose in serving others and staying involved in his community. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force stateside during the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, he devoted countless hours to helping those around him, serving as a driving instructor, Meals on Wheels volunteer, EMT, member of the Volunteer Rescue Squad, and volunteer at Spring River Assisted Living. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and brought humor to those around him as the self-proclaimed “Official Pooper Scooper” for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Posse.

Ronnie's heart for service began early in life through his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. His dedication to scouting continued into adulthood, where he served as a scout leader, helping guide and mentor young people for many years. He was also a long-time faithful member of Villa Heights Christian Church, where he took pride in his faith in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Tubbs; his parents, Frank and Eva Tubbs; and his brother, Frank Tubbs III.

Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Routledge and husband Jeff of Duenweg, Andrea Prewett and husband James of Carl Junction, and Michelle Petersen and husband Rob of Carthage; his brother, Steven Tubbs of Colorado; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Ronnie will be remembered for his servant's heart, his willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed, his dedication to family and community, and the sense of humor he carried throughout his life. His legacy of service and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
