(From Ozark Funeral Home)Rosdar Serenios Materne, age 69, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on June 18, 2026. She was born on July 9, 1956, in Pohnpei, Micronesia, and lived a life marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength.
Rosdar graduated from high school and carried herself with dignity and grace throughout her life. She worked at Twin Rivers in Neosho, Missouri, for five years and later at Tyson Foods in Noel, Missouri, where she dedicated 13 years of faithful service. She was known as a hardworking woman who took pride in providing for her family and doing her part with care and commitment.
Faith was an important part of Rosdar’s life, and she was a Christian. Her beliefs guided the way she treated others, and she was remembered as a loving, kind, and friendly woman. She had a warm heart and a generous spirit, and once she got to know someone, she would be their friend for life. Although she was kind, she did not take jokes well.
Rosdar loved fishing, which she called pang pwo likilik, and she also enjoyed sightseeing, or one lap. She found joy in spending time with her family and in caring for them in every way she could. Her family was the center of her life, and she gave them her love, attention, and support without hesitation. The memories she created with them will remain treasured for generations.
She is survived by her husband, Clemenson Materne; her son, Clyde Materne, and daughter-in-law, Anna Materne; her daughter, Mayleen Johnny, and son-in-law, Johnston Johnny; her daughter-in-law, Nanette Materne; and her son-in-law, Whyneld Dick. She also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, including Derek Materne, Natalie Miller, Jonathon Miller, Dornell Materne, Sharayne Materne, Skyler Rodriguez, CJ Materne, Reann Materne, NorDamian Materne, Ntwone Materne, Jinny Rehobson, Korson Hallens, Jimmy Jr. Rehobson, Jermaine Johnny, Alimay Johnny, Dylan Igisomar, Weiss Dick, Quinny Materne, and others who brought her great joy. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Derrence Materne, Renzelle Materne, Athena Materne, and Anora Materne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roper Serenios; her mother, Suhlie Serenios; her son, Clemens Materne; her daughters, Alsileen Dick and Kayleen Materne.
A visitation and chapel service will be held on June 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the FMCC Church in Neosho, Missouri. Burial will follow at the Howard Cemetery in Goodman, Missouri. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
