(From Midland Cremation Society)Gerald L. Cavener, 84, of Joplin, Missouri passed away peacefully at his residence on June 17, 2026 under the care of Good Shepard Hospice. Gerald was born on April 7th, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri, to John and Juanita Cavener. On October 27th, 2001, he married Linda Reddick in Joplin, Missouri. Gerald worked as a truck driver early on in life, but for over the last 30 years was a welder at TEI in Joplin, Missouri. In their free time, Gerald and Linda loved to try different restaurants and food together.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Cavener, who shared in his life's journey and treasured many years of marriage together.
Gerald is also survived by his two sons, Michael (Lynda) Cavener of Lucedale, MS, Terry Cavener of Joplin, MO. Two daughters, Kelly (Terry) White of Joplin, MO and Ricki (Victor) Gomez of Joplin, MO. Four step-children, Billie (Dwayne) Gibson of Carthage, MO, Teresa (John) Clifford of Joplin, MO, Johnny Clem of Republic, MO and Charlie Ritter of Webb City, MO. Along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be a small graveside service at 2:00pm on Friday, June 26th, 2026 at Forest Park Cemetery. Arrangements are made with Midland Cremation Society in Joplin, Missouri.
