Wayne Wentworth

Robert “Wayne” Wentworth (5/18/44-6/18/26) born Union City, Indiana to Robert & Nadine(Wigger) Wentworth. Wayne graduated from Greenville,Ohio in 1962. He was a proud member of the US Air Force, a USDA inspector, piano teacher & choir director. He married Ruth Menzies 3/31/67. 

He is survived by children: Bob(Cheryl) Wentworth of Carl Junction, MO; Jennifer(Doug) Cassel of Abrams, WI; Rebecca Koebbe of Glen Carbon, IL; and Sarah Wentworth of Birmingham, AL. Grandchildren: Kira, Ryan, Douglas (Maegan), Matthew, Benjamin(Emily), Mikayla, Samuel(Nia), Rachel/Levi, Ellie, Great grandchildren Ayden, Jude, Maya. Sister Pamela(Jim) Ousley, Brother Mark(Diane) Wentworth, Brother in laws: Bob(Kim) Menzies, John(Evelyn) Jennerich, Bill(Marnie) Pedersen & sister in law Nila Pedersen as well as many nieces nephews, cousins & wonderful friends and his faithful dog Xena.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth and grandson Daniel Cassel.

Wayne’s life revolved around his love for God, family, music, food, friendships and traveling. He was a member and organist at First Lutheran Church in Neosho, MO until moving to Wisconsin where he joined St. John’s in Little Suamico. Wayne was a member of American Legion post 523 in Abrams, Tristatesman Barbershop Chorus in Joplin & the F.O.G Quartet. He loved to cook, bake bread and teach family how to make his homemade noodles. His love for all of his family & friends was unmatched. 

If you knew Wayne, you always had a friend.A special thanks to Unity Hospice for your amazing care, especially Ashley & Skylar. We will miss his awkward voice text messages, playing cards, his evening “piano bar” concerts, but especially his good night hugs.

In lieu of floral tributes, a donation in Wayne’s honor can be made to St. John’s Outreach Locker in Little Suamico or to Faithful Friends in Neosho, MO. Visitation to be held Sunday 6/28/26 at noon with funeral service following at 1pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church Little Suamico, WI officiated by Reverend Stacy Malzhan. A celebration of life to be held Saturday 8/8/26 at East Side Social in Neosho 1:30-4pm with friends and family.
