Betty Anderson

Betty Mae Montgomery-Anderson was born March 23, 1935 in Salina, Oklahoma, the daughter of Albert ‘Bert’ and Marie (Shrum) Montgomery. She entered into rest on August 22, 2019 at Granby House, following an extended illness at the age of 84.

Betty and Jerry Anderson were married on March 2, 1954 in Miami, Oklahoma. They moved to Neosho in the fall of 1984 and then resided briefly in Arizona, California and Michigan, returning to Neosho. Betty worked many years at Sunbeam and Tyson Foods in Neosho. She enjoyed reading, singing and doing puzzles and was of the Baptist Faith. Her husband, Jerry preceded her in death in 2002. 

Betty is survived by three sons, Paul Anderson and spouse, Brian of Neosho; Eric Anderson and wife, Sherri of Granby and Rob Anderson and wife, Chris Ann of Carthage; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one brother, Jerry Gwartney of Ponca City, Oklahoma. 








In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Gerri Lynn Anderson in 1961 and Gail Anderson in 2009, three brothers and three sisters. 

Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11 am at the Oakwood Cemetery, Kurt Gwartney will officiate. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Tuesday morning from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the Granby House Activity Fund. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Granby House and Three Rivers Hospice for the wonderful care given to Betty during her illness.
