Lee Hoskins

Lee Roy Hoskins, age 78, died on August 22, 2019 at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, MO. Lee was born to Charles and Lucille Hoskins in Huron, South Dakota.

When Lee was 17 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for 21 years. He immediately began a second career at NASCO in San Diego, California where he worked 20 years before retiring. 

Lee married his best friend Clare in 1967. She passed away in 2011. When Lee wasn’t working or spending time with Clare, he enjoyed baseball and football games, playing golf and fishing. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. Lee had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. After living the majority of his life on the west coast Lee moved to Carthage, Missouri in 2012 to be near family.








Lee is survived by sister Jeannie and her husband Roger Baker (Monett, MO), sister Janis and her husband Bill George (Carthage, MO), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri/

  1. Lee was my first cousin. His mom was my mom's sister, and my mom was his godmother. Lee was stationed in the Bay Area for many years, and he would always get together with us during his shore leave. Le served on the USS Ranger and the USS Hancock during several tours in Vietnam. Lee later transferred to San Diego, where we became very close while I attended San Diego State. Lee was probably my favorite golf partner. His wit, along with his political acumen, made him so interesting to me. Lee was loved by ALL!
