Hazel Delores (Hughes) Thomlinson, age 88 of Galena, passed away unexpectedly at her home at 4:17 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2019.
Hazel was born in Cardin, OK on August 19, 1930 to the Ethel May (Hughes) Bush. She had worked as a waitress in many diners and cafes through the area, but was also a homemaker. She had a special soft-spot in her heart for all animals.
She was united in marriage with Lyle W. Thomlinson on May 18, 1946 in Columbus, KS. They enjoyed 73 years together, and he survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Brenda K. Rohen (husband, Jack) of Joplin, MO, and Aloma Green (husband, Phillip) of Lowell, KS; as well as 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kyle W. Thomlinson; and one daughter, Ethel Dean Elliott.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2019 at Lowell Cemetery, rural Baxter Springs, KS. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
