Chris Parrish

Christopher Laverne “Chris” Parrish, age 53, of Joplin, MO, formerly of Monett, MO, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, while at the University of Kansas Health Center in Kansas City, KS.

Chris was born on October 22, 1965 in Monett, MO, the son of the late Theodore and Sandra (Patton) Parrish. He graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1984 and furthered his education at the Draughon’s Business College in Joplin. Chris had worked in the Healthcare Insurance industry for many years. Chris was a very social person, always enjoying spending time with family and friends.







He is survived by his sister, Lisa Hill and husband Mike of Spokane, WA; nephews, Michael Hill and wife Sara, Samuel Hill, Tyler Hill, Matthew Hill and Zane Hill; his niece, Amanda Hill; and one great-niece, Hailey Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nickle and Reverend Mike Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Gunter Cemetery, Butterfield, MO. Memorial contributions have been requested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.

  2. Chris was the gentlest man I bet knew. A classy, gentle loving man who lit up the world, and we lucky few who got to see it, however how brief, are better for having known him. He was a true friend
