Jami Shearhart

Jami Sue Walker Shearhart, age 60, Alba, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jami was born on April 16, 1959 in Joplin, and attended school in Carl Junction, where she graduated from in 1977. While she was young, she enjoyed riding her horses with the local Misses Drill Team and was heavily involved in FFA. She attended Oklahoma State University before graduating from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelor's degree in education. She worked as a teacher in her early years, then transitioned to becoming a dispatcher for the Jasper County Emergency Services (911) for several years, and most recently she was a medical transcriptionist for Freeman Hospital. She was very close to her family, and will be greatly missed.








Survivors include her husband, Chuck Shearhart, whom she married on March 24, 1989; a daughter, Mariah Sue England and husband Matt of Clarksville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Hannah Young; parents, Jim and Suanne Walker of Carl Junction.

Jami has requested that no formal services be held.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
