Kenneth Robert Cholka, Neosho, entered into rest on August 19, 2019 at his home, following an extended illness at the age of 71.
Ken was born January 14, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Jerome and Virginia (Bennett) Cholka. He moved to Neosho at the age of ten and was a graduate of Neosho High School and Crowder College. Ken worked at Community Bank and Trust for many years and retired as Senior Vice President in 2012. He enjoyed going to garage sales, spending time at the creek and was a collector of many things. He was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church.
Ken and Carla (Arndt) were married on February 2, 1984 in Neosho and she survives.
Additional survivors include four children, Brandi Versluis and husband Joey of Neosho; Heather VanLue and husband Neil of Joplin, Dakota Cholka and wife, Lisa of Neosho and Kacee Lawrence and husband, Derek of Neosho; eight grandchildren, Carter, Leyton and Finn Versluis, Craig and Hunter VanLue, Dylan and Lydia Cholka and Walker Lawrence; one great granddaughter, Dani Rose Cholka and three brothers, Jerome ‘Butch’ Cholka, Jr. of Clearwater, Florida; Ronnie Cholka and wife, Donna of Joplin and Dennis Cholka and wife, Pat of Neosho.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Christy Prater.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 10 am at the Cornerstone Bible Church, Rev. Terry Swagerty will officiate. Memorial visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Contributions in memory of Ken may be given to Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
