Larry Joe Murphy, 70 years, of Neosho, Missouri passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following a short illness.
Larry was born on April 7, 1949 in Douthat, Oklahoma to the late Charles and Ruby (Pope) Murphy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Larry loved to fish, going to auctions and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Bounds; five brothers, Lee Roy Murphy, Gilbert Murphy, Dennis Murphy, Delvin Murphy and Earl Murphy.
Larry married Pamela Sue Winchester on June 5, 1971, she survives.
Also surviving are his son, Chad Murphy and wife, Teresa; his daughter, Carrie Malone and husband, Russell; two granddaughters, Whitney (Malone) Roark and husband, Chadlee, Ashley (Murphy) Patterson and husband, Matt; a grandson, Levi Malone; a great grandson, Colt Roark; a sister, Judy Atkinson and a brother, Tom Murphy; along with a host of family and friends who will dearly miss Larry.
Memorial service for Larry will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the Exciting Living Word Fellowship in Anderson, Missouri. Pastor Haskell Martin will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the Lanagan Cemetery in Lanagan, Missouri.
