Cecil “Pete” Leon Balster, Jr., age 50, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, August 23, 2019 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Pete was born December 29, 1968 in Nevada, Missouri to the late Cecil Balster, Sr. and Marcene (Lindsay) Balster. Pete was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army.
He married Sarah Thomas on May 27, 1988 in Milo, Missouri. Pete worked as a truck driver for Leggett & Platt, Schrader Towing, and other businesses in the area. He loved being outside riding his motorcycle, and especially on the water fishing. Pete loved people and being around people, being well known for never meeting a stranger. He truly loved spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah, Carthage; a daughter, Tedie Balster, Carthage; two brothers, Brent Curry, and Randy Curry; a sister, Peggy Harper; seven grandchildren; Zane Balster, Phoenix Deckard, Joseph Hawkins, Jocilyn Balster, Riker Edwards, Zaylyn Edwards and Rielyn Edwards; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Cody Balster.
Per Pete’s wishes there was cremation and a celebration of life will be held 1 pm, Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Carthage Memorial Hall, 407 S. Garrison, Carthage, MO 64836. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
