Services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home, for Timothy Roger Buchanan, 58, Cumming, Georgia who died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019. Burial will be held in his hometown of Lamar, Mo. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 4 p.m., at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Buchanan, Cumming; his mother, Norma Buchanan, Lamar, Mo.; children, Katelyn Buchanan, Cumming and stepdaughters, Kelli Maddock, Arlington, Va. and Ashley Payne and husband Roger Payne II, St. James, Mo.; a sister, Cindy Buchanan, Lamar, Mo.; a grandson, RJ Payne and nephews and niece, Jeremy Buchanan, Aimee Rabb and Jordan Thibideaux. Other survivors include Lynn Buchanan and numerous friends and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley “Buck” Buchanan.
Mr. Buchanan was born Dec. 10, 1960, in Lamar, Mo. He loved his first job as a paperboy and being part of Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1979 and attended college at SMSU (Missouri State University).
He worked in the restaurant business for nearly five years. He entered his IT career in 1993, which included working for Lotus, Compaq, Cisco and HP. His latest employment was with Nutanix (San Jose, Calif) as customer satisfaction manager.
He was an active member of the NRA. He enjoyed golfing, gunsmithing and he was an avid reader. He loved being around his family and friends and he treated his friends as family.
