Kelly Walters

Kelly R. Walters, age 47, of Bella Vista, AR, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Saturday August 10, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, AR, following an illness.

Kelly was born on November 20, 1971 in Joplin, the daughter of Jim and Ruth (Mullins) Whitlock. She has been a resident of Bella Vista for the past three years. Kelly graduated from Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, CO. She attended Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, KS. She worked as a clinic tech for Freeman Heart Institute. She also was an interpreter for the deaf for Joplin Schools. She volunteered at Life Choices of Joplin and was a mentor for Saving Grace in Rogers, AR.

She was a member of Bella Vista Assembly of God Church. She was a past member of Prosperity Apostolic Faith Church where she served as a Youth Pastor. Kelly enjoyed antiquing and repurposing her great finds, crafts, hiking and photography. She loved and spoiled her dogs.

Kelly married Jeff Walters on August 8, 1992, and he survives.








She is also survived by three daughters, Jamie Otto and husband Troy, Carl Junction, MO, Rebekah Dominguez and husband Erik, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Erin Walters; four grandchildren, Blake, Tucker and Abigail Tomasi, with one on the way, Evie Otto; her parents, Jim and Ruth Whitlock, Joplin; one brother, Joseph Whitlock and wife Amanda, Joplin, MO; eight sisters, Kathleen Riggins and husband Dave, Carthage, MO, Amanda Arwood and husband Bill, Joplin, MO, Shonna Justin and husband Jeremy, Parker, CO, Crystal Richey and husband Michael, Scottsville, KY, Melinda Martin, Tulsa, OK, Melanie Whitlock, Milan, MO, Angel Bollig and husband Ronnie, Appleton, MO, and Jessica Whitlock, Springfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelsey Tomasi.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Southside Apostolic Faith Church. Pastor Joel Dorris will officiate. The family will have a private interment.

The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Southside Apostolic Faith Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Life Choices of Joplin in care of the mortuary.
