Hazel Kresyman 84, of Columbus, KS died 7:06pm Sunday August 25, 2019 at the Autumn Place in Columbus, KS following an illness.
Hazel was born September 1, 1934 in Columbus, KS the daughter of Ruben and Josephine (Houser) Carlson. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Columbus High School. On June 9, 1956 Hazel married Raymond Kresyman at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus, KS; he preceded her in death on November 8, 2010. Hazel worked at the Cherokee County Treasurer’s Office for 25 years serving as Treasurer for 8 years.
Hazel was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus, KS; was a member of the Altar Society; loved her flowers and working in the yard; cooking; enjoyed exercising with the girls at the hospitality center; most of all loved her kids and grandkids.
Survivors include her children Trish Carroll and husband Doug of Columbus, KS, Becky Beck and husband Mike of Springfield, MO and Steve Kresyman and wife Karen of Columbus, KS; daughter in law Trish Kresyman-Shuller of Joplin, MO; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Ray Kresyman, siblings Bobby Carlson, Betty Jean Meeker and Mary Ann Thompson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday August 29, 2019 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus, KS. Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm Wednesday August 28, 2019 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS; family will receive friends immediately following the rosary. Public viewing will be after 12:00pm Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and/or Columbus Community Foundation.
