Paul Nelson Parrish, age 92, of Wentworth, MO died on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO. Mr. Parrish was born in Aldrich, MO on Thursday, September 16, 1926. He was the son of Albert and Georgia (Ridenour) Parrish.
Mr. Parrish was married to Ola Belle and she survives. Mr. Parrish served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Seaman 1st Class. He worked as a repeaterman for Southwestern Bell for many years. Mr. Parrish attended Mt. Vernon Christian Church. He went to Haiti 23 different times working with Salonique Adolphe and Living Water Christian Mission. Mr. Parrish made it a habit to read from the Bible at 9:00 AM each morning. He had read through the Bible multiple times. Mr. Parrish enjoyed hunting, wood carving, cutting firewood, and reloading ammo.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Ola Belle of the home; one son, Jim Parrish of El Dorado, AR; two daughters, Vickie Lynn DeArmond of Joplin, MO and Linda Hicks of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his parents. He also lost a son, John, in 1990.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2019 beginning at 10:00 AM with Pastor Mark Engler officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Grove, MO at 1:30 PM.
