Janis Rose Mitchell was born April 5, 1949 in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Hayden and Elma (Gibbens) Boyer. She entered into rest on August 30, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri, following a lengthy illness at the age of 70.
Janis was a lifelong area resident, a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed scrapbooking, she was an avid collector and she especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Her two fur babies, Libby and Alley Cat were very dear to her.
Janis is survived by six children, Paula Robbins and husband, Steve of Joplin; John Richardson of Joplin; Jennifer Manning and husband, Brian of Florida; Clay Yarbrough and wife, Tina of Seneca; Vivian Williams and husband, Ray of Houston, Texas and Melanie Salyer of Missouri; eight brothers, Bud Boyer and wife, Sue of Neosho; Jim Boyer and wife, Bonnie of Neosho; Mickey Boyer of Neosho; Tex Boyer and wife, Katie of Neosho; Steve Boyer and wife, Carol of Neosho; Tony Boyer of Seneca; Bert Boyer of Seneca and Brian Boyer of Neosho; three sisters, Peggy Ming of Neosho; Joyce Saunders and husband, Bob of Neosho and Carolyn Jones and husband, Eddie of Neosho; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Mitchell, her parents, two brothers, Ted Boyer and Don Boyer and a sister, Ethel Randolph.
