Stanley Thompson

Stanley Stephen Thompson, 74, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away Thursday evening, August 15, 2019, at the Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Stanley entered this life on November 27, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri, one of three children born to the union of the late Stephen G. and Aline Faye (Stanley) Thompson. He was a 1964 graduate of Carthage High School.

The Kansas City Royals have never known a bigger fan than Stanley and he will always be “Forever Royal”. He also enjoyed other sports, including basketball. Stanley loved spending his time fishing, working crossword puzzles and listening to old country music. He was truly a lover of people and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and happy spirit.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Aline.








Survivors include his siblings, Terry Thompson and wife, Cindy, and Diane Goad and husband, Ernest, all of Webb City; two nephews, Travis Thompson and wife, Lori, and Christopher Thompson and wife, Rendy, all of Joplin; five great-nephews and two great-nieces; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2019, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri, with Pastor Doyle Hoth officiating. Online condolences may be sent through our website www.hedgelewis.com.
