Charlene Thomas, age 81, of Duenweg, MO, passed away on Thursday August 15, 2019, at her home, following an illness.
Charlene was born on May 21,1938, the daughter of the late Ulyso and Ruby (Reynolds) Reaves. She was raised by her mother and father. On August 21, 1955 in Springfield, MO, she married the love of her life, Wayne Thomas. She worked thirty-three years as a clerk at Consumers Grocery Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Duenweg. She was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association, and a faithful member of the “Lunch Bunch”.
Charlene is survived by two sons, Danny Thomas and his wife Jana, of Joplin, and Steve Thomas, Joplin; three grandchildren, Jinger Lee and husband Robert, Webb City, MO, Stefani Pyle and husband Brian, Webb City, MO, and Gabe Thomas, Joplin; and five great-grandchildren, Oakley Slaughter, Knox Lee, Taylor Lee, Evan Lee, and Jordan Pyle. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Thomas on February 17, 2019; three brothers, Estel Reaves, Armold Reaves, and Jerry Reaves; and one sister, June Hunt.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Dr. Phillip McClendon will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The visitation will be 6-7:00 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church of Duenweg.
