Curtis Shikles

Curtis A Shikles, 79 of Joplin, Mo., passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Freeman Hospital following an illness.

Curtis was born February 24, 1940 in Russellville, Mo., the son of the late Lloyd and Anna (Jones) Shikles. He owned and operated CCS Transportation Inc. and C&C Fleet Service for many years.

He married, Cynthia Lind on December 24, 1981, she survives.








Additional survivors include four daughters; Chelsea Sandefer and husband Roger of Carl Junction, Mo., Kimberly Lewis and husband Dewey of Asbury, Mo., Julie Young and husband Glenn of St. Elizabeth, Mo. and Melissa Lowry, two sons; Jeffrey Shikles of Carthage, Mo., Douglas Garver and wife Charmaine of Oronogo, Mo.; two brothers; Robert Shikles of California, Mo., Junior Shikles of Jefferson City, Mo., one sister; Darlene Hunt of Willard, Mo., and seven grandchildren; David, Lydia, Mackenzie, Kaleb, Audrey, Gideon, Nolan and one to be named at a later date.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2019 at Mason- Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
