Louis Norvell

Louis Edward Norvell, age 73, Joplin, passed away at 5:57 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2019 at his home after a sudden illness.

Louis was born October 10, 1945 in Galena, Kansas to the late John Raymond Norvell and Lorraine Bliss Norvell and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.

Louis attended Missouri Southern State College, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree and graduated from Drury College, Springfield with a Master's degree in Accounting. He worked at Sperry Vickers and Leggett and Platt as an accountant and controller, retiring in 2005.

Louis was an avid collector of baseball cards; coins and comics. He loved to spend time with his family and will be missed by everyone who knew him.








He is survived by a son, Chad Norvell and wife, Laura; a daughter, Carri Carlson and husband, Shawn; two sisters, Ann Myers and husband, Chet, Reena Williams; grandchildren, Jake Miller, Amber Seitz, Serenity Norvell, Ozzy Carlson, Laci Carlson; great grandchildren, Emma Seitz, Lexton Braun; his first wife and mother of the children, Beverly Norvell Philliber; former wife, Patty Norvell, step children, Christina Bay and husband, David, Melissa Roughton, Cherie Wallace, Jamie Patterson; step grandchildren, Alex Patterson, William Patterson, Jenna Cue and husband, Aaron, Shae Leigh Snyder and husband, Dillan, Leslie Wallace; and a step great grandchild, Cohan Snyder.

Services are planned for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
