Robert "Bob" Warren Miller, age 95 of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Bob was born May 24, 1922 in Carl Junction, son of the late Raymond Earl Miller and Olga Appleman Miller. Bob graduated from Carl Junction High School, and then served in the United States Army during World War II. He returned to Carl Junction and worked in his father's newspaper until his parents died in 1959. He became owner and editor of the Carl Junction Standard Newspaper. He was a former Jasper County Deputy Assessor, member of the Carl Junction Methodist Church, member of the Carl Junction Cemetery Association and a member of the Carl Junction Alumni Association.
He married Nona Marie Mitchell on May 21, 1941 in Columbus, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 3, 1999.
Survivors include his daughters, Pat McClain and husband Bill of Miami, Oklahoma, Joyce Attuso and husband Ron of Mesa, Arizona. Grandchildren: Mark McClain of Springfield, Missouri, Todd McClain and wife Kristi of Miami, Oklahoma, Jennifer Taraci and husband Dave of Chandler, Arizona, Robert Attuso and wife Jodie of Gilbert, Arizona, and Ryan Attuso and wife Vanessa of Gilbert, Arizona. He is also survived by eight great grand children and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Bob Simon officiating. Interment will follow in the Carl Junction Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Carl Junction Cemetery Association or the Carl Junction Senior Citizens Center.
