Susie Irene George, age 73, Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at her daughter's home after a lengthy illness.
Susie was born December 27, 1943 in Southwest City, Missouri, daughter of the late Cleo Duncan and Zelma Andrews Smith. She graduated from high school and then attended Crowder College in Neosho where she earned her Degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse in Joplin for many years, mainly working with St. John's Hospital, and ended her career at the Rehabilitation Center in Mount Vernon, Missouri.
She was a member of Central Assembly of God for years, and was most recently attending Joplin Full Gospel Church.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd A. George; a son, Robert Bucklin, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Gwendolyn Rasmussen and husband Rich of LaVista, Nebraska, Misty Arehart of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Cindi Corley and husband Paul of Gallatin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Branden Bucklin, Lacy Bucklin Crowe, Aaron Pyles, Nathon Guajardo, Ashley Porter, Andrew "Chigger"' Corley, and Emily "Crickett" Corley; five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Howard Nunnelly officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
