Bertha I. Ziulkowski, 78, Joplin, MO, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. Bertha Irene Komula was born November 9, 1938 in Hancock, MI to the late William Komula and Helma (Lindrus) Komula. She graduated from Hancock High School, Class of 1955. Bertha married Donald Ziulkowski on May 16, 1958 in Hancock, MI; he survives. She worked as a controller for Jay Wolfe Automotive in Kansas City, KS. Bertha was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Joplin.
Survivors include three sons, Geoff Ziulkowski (wife Lisa), Rochester, MI, Bud Ziulkowski (wife Donna), Blue Springs, MO, and Chas Ziulkowski (wife Andee), Carl Junction, MO; four sisters, Sharon Salo, Hancock, MI, Shirley Rintela (husband Sherwood), Hancock, MI, Ethel Chandonet, Hancock, MI, and Donna Komula, Hancock, MI; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Alice Ponga, Viola Komula, and Helen Thomas, and one brother, John Komula.
