James A. “Jim” Worden, age 92, formerly of Grove, Ok., passed away on September 11, 2017 at the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, Ok., following an illness.
Jim was born on May 30, 1925 in Canton, Tx., the son of the late James and Nell (Frazer) Worden. He served in the United States Navy and was a WWII Veteran. He worked as a truck driver for Fred’s Frozen Foods. He was a member of Christ’s Church of Perseverance in Carthage, Mo. He was also a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the Masons.
Jim married Lizzie Lorene (Doty) Harlan on August 20, 1978. Together they raised a blended family of six children. Lizzie preceded Jim in death on December 19, 2010. He was also preceded in death by one son, Paul Harlan on December 6, 1979; one brother, and three sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Dianna Baker, Miami, Ok. and Jennifer Richardson, Branson, Mo.; three sons, Butch Shilling, Grove, Ok., Robert Worden, Tulsa, Ok., and Christopher Worden, Tulsa, Ok.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Forest Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
