Hazel Pearl Dixon-Estes, age 86, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 3:03 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born October 3, 1930, in Halltown, Missouri, the daughter of Noah and Eva (Stillabower) Dixon.
Hazel was a 1948 graduate of Carthage High School. She was a sales person for World Book Encyclopedia and worked for McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage. She was a member of the Miller Assembly of God.
On December 23, 1949, she married Raymond Erwin Estes, in Springfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2009.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Estes and his wife, Donna, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Garry Estes of Miller; three daughters, Joyce Cranfill of Naples, Florida, Sharon Lillard and her husband, Rodney, of Carthage and Tambra Cartlidge and her husband, Don, of Hudson, Kansas; two sisters, Dorothy Peacock and her husband, William, of Buffalo, Missouri and Delores Frazier and her husband, Howard, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 21 great –grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Noah and Eva, daughter, Sharon Pearl Estes, brother, Norman Wayne Dixon, sister, Bettie Ritchie, two daughter-in-law’s, Barbara Ann Estes and Sharon Kay Estes and son-in-law, Cliff Cranfill, preceded her in death.
A funeral service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the Round Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.
