Dorothy J. Mankin, 88, Carthage, MO, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Dorothy Jean Stogsdill was born July 17, 1929 in Fair Grove, MO to the late Homer Stogsdill and Florance (Wommack) Stogsdill. She graduated from Fair Grove High School, Class of 1947. Dorothy married Howard C. Mankin on July 24, 1948; he preceded her in death on August 23, 2013. She worked as an office manager for Southwestern Bell telephone company. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carthage.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Kathy Mankin, Carthage, MO; one sister, Helen Kimberling, Peoria, IL; two grandchildren, Whitney Chartier (husband Jonathan), Carthage, MO, and Ryan Mankin (wife Amanda), Warrensburg, MO; and five great grandchildren, Aiden & Olivia Chartier, and Dylan, Truman & Easton Mankin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Stanton Mankin and Steven Mankin, one sister, Virginia Huff, and one grandson, William Mankin.
Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Knell Mortuary. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. in Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Fair Grove, MO. Rev.
