Thomas Keith Carr, age 57, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital after a sudden illness.
Keith was born September 11, 1960 in Joplin, and graduated from Memorial High School in 1979 where he played for the two time Missouri State Championship basketball team.. He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, and fantasy football with family and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Carr and Ernestine Carr, and a brother, David Thomas.
Survivors include his son, Kellen Carr of Eugene, Oregon; brother, Eric Carr and wife Cynthia of Rochester Hills, Michigan; sister Linda Hackner and husband Charles of Tomball, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Thomas of Joplin; nieces and nephews, Troy Thomas, Jason Hackner, Tracey Thomas, Keisha Love-Mason, Jordan Burton; companion, Michele Maxson; step-son, Randell Chrisman, Antwon Hines; step-daughter, Sadie Maxson.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Howard Nunnelly officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
