Robert L. “Bob” Rader, age 74, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away Friday morning, September 15, 2017, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri.
Robert was born July 26, 1943, in Joplin, Missouri. He was a 1961 graduate of Joplin Senior High. On September 2, 1967, he was united in marriage to Diana Childress and to this union two children were born.
Bob was an avid Razorback fan and he graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1965 with a double degree in Management and Marketing. He then graduated from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in 1976.
Bob retired from Wells Fargo Advisors in 2015 after 25 years as a Financial Advisor with the firm. Prior to joining A.G. Edwards’ Joplin office (currently Wells Fargo Advisors) in 1990, Bob spent 25 years in the banking industry, holding positions as credit manager of Oklahoma’s largest bank, National Bank Examiner for Comptroller of Currency in Oklahoma and Texas, and Executive Vice President and Director of a local bank.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors and was a general partner of Cactus Cattle Company for many years. He was a past member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Diana, of the home; two children, Amy Elizabeth Engelhoven and husband, Chris, of Orlando, Florida, and Scott Rader and wife, Amanda, of Camillus, New York; and three grandchildren, Jenna, Samantha and McKenzie.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions are made in Bob’s memory to the Ronald McDonald House and Faithful Friends Animal Advocates of Neosho. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
