Mrs. Elsie Claudette Jones, 69, of Neosho, Missouri, departed this life on Monday evening, September 18, 2017, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Elsie entered this life on May 9, 1948, in Reeds Spring, Missouri, born to the union of the late Jesse and Elsie (Horne) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Galena, Kansas. In 1972, she moved her family to Neosho, Missouri. Throughout her life she was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed puzzles, reading and was a huge Elvis fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jesse McConn; two brothers, Melvin and Lewis Miller; and a grandson, Tyler McConn.
Elsie is survived by her three sons, Christopher McConn and wife, Chris, Ronald Jones and Bobby Davenport and wife, Miranda, all of Neosho, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson; two brothers, Mike Miller of Gravette, Arkansas and Paul Shaw of China; three sisters, Karen Ruddick of Centerton, Arkansas, Doris Lawson of Joplin, Missouri, Sherri Smith of Joplin, Missouri and Tranda Shaw of Jacksonville, Florida; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Rocky Tash officiating. Burial will follow in the Cummings Cemetery in Tiff City, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Christopher McConn, Ronald Jones, Bobby Davenport, James Spencer, Mike Miller and D.J. Woodcock.
