Charli Johnson

Vera Charlene “Charli” Johnson went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 21, 2017, after a long bravely fought health battle. She was born July 18, 1936, in Gilbert, Arizona, the daughter of Albert and Vera Bearden.

Charli was a longtime resident of Miller, Missouri, until moving to Carthage, Missouri, after retirement. She enjoyed being part of the Miller community and while living there never missed attending and working at the annual Miller Fall Festival and during the summer months wouldn’t miss a Saturday night hootenanny.

On November 4th she married Murl Arlie Johnson in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2017.

Most of Charlene’s working years she spent working in the administrative offices for school districts in both California and Missouri and the last 13 years she worked at the MRC in Mt Vernon in the finance department. Her greatest passion in life was her family and friends. In retirement she and Murl enjoyed farm living, spoiling and loving on her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Charli is survived by one son, Joe Taylor and his wife, Paula, of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Denise Robertson and her husband, Monty, of Carthage, Shawna Colley and her husband, Jeff, of Mt. Vernon and Lawna Price and her husband, David, of Stark City, Missouri; three brothers, Allen Bearden and his wife, Sharon, of Florida, Wayne Bearden and his wife, Shelby, of Sun City Arizona, and twin brother Gene Bearden and his wife, Sandy, of Dewey Arizona; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two brother-in-law’s and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Vera, husband Murl, son Michael Dale, great-granddaughter Hadley Morgan, and three sisters Ilene Blackwell, Dorothy McNeely and Ila McCullum.

A celebration of life service will be held at11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller. Burial will follow at the Sycamore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Sycamore Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
