Jimmie B. Harris, 83, Exeter, MO passed away September 23, 2017.
Jimmie was born July 23, 1934 in Fairview, MO to John Sterling and Nora (Wogoman) Harris. He worked over 40 years as an appliance repair technician for Sears in KC until he retired in 1994. At that time, he moved from Independence, MO to Exeter. Jimmie was a Korean War era veteran, serving in the US Army.
He married Betty Jo Morris on June 19, 1974 in Independence; she preceded him in death on July 24, 2002. Jimmie is survived by seven daughters: Jodi Mitchell (Stacey), Independence, MO; Jackie Wasson (Forrest), Purdy, MO; Debra Dean (Fritz), Independence, MO; Kay Haddox (Mike), Cassville, MO; Sandy Swearingen (Mike), Wheaton, MO; Michelle Harris, Stark City, MO; and Tina Palmer (Ronnie), Monett, MO. Additional survivors include one brother, Gene Harris (Juanita), Fairview, MO, one sister, Mickey Mitchell (Don), Wheaton, MO, 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Johnny and Lee Harris, and two granddaughters, Heather Smith and Whitney Balash.
Services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Clark Funeral Home in Granby, with Pastor Scott Mitchell officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at the Dice Cemetery, Fairview, MO. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 27 between 5 pm and 7pm at Clark Funeral Home in Granby.
