Richard Mahurin

Richard Benjamin Mahurin, 75, of Washburn, MO went home to be with Jesus at his home in Dardanelle, Arkansas, on November 7, 2020. Richard was born in Washburn, MO on March 11, 1945 to Hershell and Mary (Day) Mahurin. 

Richard married (Lillian) Jane Hines on October 19, 1963. He received a Doctor of Motors in 1963 and was a very proficient mechanic.  

He graduated from Ozark Bible Institute in Neosho, MO in 1975. Richard was a lifelong truck driver, holiness preacher, and student of God’s word. He loved to sing and would get up all hours of the night to pray for his family.







Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 57 years, Jane (Hines) Mahurin; four daughters, Wanda Morris (Jim) of Norfolk, VA, Sandra Cantwell (Jeff) of Neosho, MO, Nelli Dovel of McGaheysville, VA, and Kelli DuVall (Donnie) of Russellville, AR. He had 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He also had a very special granddaughter-in-law, Angela Beth.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Hershell and Mary (Day) Mahurin; two brothers, Bob and Larry; one sister, Betty Fletcher, and one precious daughter, Roxanne Mary (Josephine) Clement. Richard’s grandson-in-law, NPD Brian Jones, also preceded him in death in the line of duty.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, MO. Rev. Jim Morris, Rev. Thomas Qualls, Rev. Donathan DuVall and Rev. Brian Dovel will officiate the service.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Interment will be at Dent Cemetery west of Washburn with Rev. Corey Herod officiating.

Contributions may be made to Dent Cemetery in memory of Richard.
