(From Parker Mortuary)Carolyn Kathryn Taylor, age 76, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Freeman West of Joplin.
Carolyn was born June 29, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of the late Garland H. Johnson and Flora Flossie Kimbro Johnson. She grew up in Commerce, Oklahoma, and graduated from Commerce High School.
She worked for years with local florists as a lead designer, most of her years with All Seasons Florist of Joplin. She was also owner and operator of Taylor's Floral and Exquisite Gifts in Carl Junction. She was a member of the Sheep Shed of Joplin.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Adrina Dunn.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Gene "Bobby" Taylor; children, Steven Pendergraft and wife Cindy of Joplin, Doug Taylor of Jasper, Missouri, Danna Taylor of Deltona, Florida, Christy Miller and husband John of Joplin, Scott Taylor and wife Stephanie of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Cata of Neosho, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sheep Shed in Joplin. Interment will follow in Sheep Shed Cemetery with Daniel Gourley, Jim Butler, Matt Persinger, Carl Brand, George Snyder, and Jay serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Parker Mortuary to help with final expenses.
