Phyllis Arndt

Phyllis Jean Arndt was born August 1, 1932 in Lebanon, South Dakota, one of two children to Irving and Ida (Estes) Miles. She entered into rest on November 14, 2020 in Neosho, following an extended illness at the age of 88. 

Phyllis moved to the southwest Missouri area as a child and graduated from Clever High School, Clever, Missouri in 1950. She worked as a secretary / receptionist at the Law Offices of Ruyle, Sims and Henry and retired after twenty nine years. 

Phyllis was an avid quilter and enjoyed reading. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as church librarian for over fifty years and also sang with the group 'Joy Singers'. 

 Phyllis and Raymond Arndt were married on May 24, 1953 in Clever, Missouri and he survives. 

In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by three daughters, Jeanie Kemp of Sante Fe, Tennessee, Angie (Mark) Holmes of Roland, Oklahoma and Carla Cholka of Neosho; four grandchildren, Brian (Liz) Martin, Jody (Joe) Gonzalez, Dakota (Lisa) Cholka and Kacee (Derek) Lawrence; great grandchildren, Zander, Jocelyn, Jaxsen, Dylan, Lydia, Walker and Saidee; great great grandchild, Dani and three sisters in law, Joann Miles, Leona Durham and Sue Hall. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Miles.
