Esther Combe

Esther Mae Jewelene Hightower-Combe, 80, Neosho, MO entered into rest on November 26, 2020, following a short illness. She was born March 4, 1940 in Zelma, MO to Ella Mae (Hughes) and Hans Patrick Huskey. 

Esther was a homemaker, a schoolteacher at a private Church school, an administrator for Golden Rule Home in Shawnee, OK, and a caregiver in private homes. She lived in the Neosho area for the majority of the past 50 years and was a lifelong member of the Church of God. Esther enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and cooking for her family, but her love was being a care giver. 

Esther married the love of her life, James Pleasant Hightower on September 25, 1960. They were blessed with six children. James passed away on May 15, 1992. She later married Floyd Joseph Combe on May 17, 2017. 








She is survived by her husband, Floyd Combe; her five children, Jim Hightower and wife, Melody, Mike Hightower, Brian Hightower and wife, Amy, Julie Hightower, and Christi Hueto; four step-children, Ray, Jim, Darlene, and Rebekah; one brother, David Huskey and wife, Svetlana; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Huskey; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. 

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, James Hightower; one son, Donald Hightower; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Hightower; one brother, James Huskey; and two sisters-in-law, Roberta Gaines and Lois Davis.

Services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO, with Brother Paul Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Webb City Cemetery, Webb City, MO. Visitation will be Monday, November 30, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Huruma Orphanage, through Africa Mission, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
