Ross Lovell

Ross Alan Lovell, age 75, of Galena, Ks., passed away on Monday November 23, 2020, at Belton Regional Medical Center, suddenly due to complications related to heart disease.

Ross was born on June 3, 1945 in Joplin, Mo., the son of the late Cleo and Laticia (Ross) Lovell. 

He married Shirley Price on September 12, 1970 in Joplin, together they raised two daughters. He graduated from Columbus High School. Ross served three tours during the Vietnam war in the United States Navy. In 1982, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and remained active until his retirement in 2001. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Able Body Manufacturing and retired in 2010.








Ross was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, and one sister-in-law Judy McKinney. He is survived by his two daughters, Susan Carter and husband Kenny, Raymore, Mo. and LaRissa Boatright and husband Paul, Lexington, Ok.; two brothers Gary Lovell and wife Lavon of Galena, Ks and Jr Ray Lovell of Gravois Mills, Mo., one brother-in-law, Kemp Price, Bethany, Ok.; sister-in-law, Frances Crabtree and husband Glenn, Guthrie, Ok.; and grandchildren, Kelsee Sigler and husband Ryan, Alexys Carter and husband Noah Hylton, Derick Boatright, Erin Rockford-Boatright, and Dillon Boatright; great-grandchildren Brock and Emily Boatright, Liam, Keegan, Ryland, and Kynzlee Sigler, and Kyler, Cade, and Jett Hylton.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2020 at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Andy Peterman will officiate. Burial will be in Messer Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Alexys Carter, Noah Hylton, Erin Rockford-Boatright, Drew Lovell, Ryan Sigler, and Hunter McPherson.

The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the National Kidney Foundation in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
