Jim Slaughter

James (Jim) Allen Slaughter, 63, Neosho, MO passed away November 20, 2020 after a short illness. Jim was born September 24, 1957 in Neosho to Ralph and Donna (Harper) Slaughter. 

He was a lifelong area resident and worked in construction for Jimmy Connor Excavation in Neosho. Jim enjoyed riding horses, roping, going to the creek, and camping. He loved being with his grandkids. Jim was especially close to his grandparents, Merle Harper and Betty Harper. 

Jim and Mandy Rickard were married October 13, 2013 in McDonald County, MO and she survives of the home. 








 Additional survivors include his mother, Donna Coppinger of Neosho; his children, Andrea Carpenter and husband, Mark of Florida, James Slaughter and wife, Sarah of Andover, MA, Nathan Powell and wife, Jasmine of Carthage, MO, Kaley Brown and Alex Calvin of Stockton, MO, and BreAnna Barbour and Kelton Miller of Neosho, MO; nine grandchildren, Kaitlin Grantham, Macie Carpenter, Avery Slaughter, Jackson Slaughter, Emma Slaughter, Blake Schultz, Lilly Reeves, Colt Barbour, and Jessie Boeglin; two sisters, Sheila Nicsinger and husband, Frank of Winter Haven, FL and Janet Brock and husband, Alan of Neosho, MO; four aunts, Bonnie Cox and husband, Don of Neosho, MO, Joyce Harper of Monett, MO, Shirley Harper of Kansas City, MO, and Mary Jayne McCandless of Kansas City, MO; two uncles, Ed Slaughter and wife, Sandra and Jerry Slaughter and wife, Pippa; his grandmother, Gerry Slaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Slaughter; his step-father, Clark Coppinger; and his grandparents, Merle Harper, Betty Harper, Albert Slaughter, and Minnie Ritter.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 pm, Monday, November 30, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home. Alan Brock will officiate. Contributions in honor of Jim may be made to ALS Foundation, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
