Jim Weber

James A. Weber, age 86, Webb City, went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 25 surrounded by his family at his home.

Jim was born in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, one of 14 children born to the late Joseph J. Weber and Margaret Mary Webber Weber. 

In 1955 he met Shirley Stroud at the Blue Moon in Arma, Ks. They were married the following year in Pittsburg, Kansas. In 1958 they moved to Garden Grove, CA where they raised their 6 children. Jim worked in the aircraft industry, Acton animation, and started a pipeline business with his brother. In 1971 they moved back to Kansas. Jim retired from Mackie Clemens Coal Company. 








For the last 10 years Jim and Shirley have enjoyed going to Zapata, TX for the winter months. In Zapata they enjoyed the retirement community and made many friends.

Jim was a devoted Catholic and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus for many years.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a great-grandson, two sisters, a brother, and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of 64 years, children Debbie Ziegler and husband Kevin, Teresa Mai, Joe Weber and friend Sue, Becky Smith, Brenda Weber and friend Craig, Jeff Weber and his wife Phyllis, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Weber family would like to thank Fr. Francisco Gordillo (Paco) from Sacred Heart Church in Webb City, Mo for his spiritual support to the family especially during Jims last few months in hospice. We would also like to thank Integrity Hospice for the compassionate care of Jim especially in his final journey on earth.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Francisco "Paco" Gordillo officiating.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with the family to visit with friends after the service until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or the American Cancer Society.

Cremation will follow the Mass on Friday, and inurnment of his ashes will be at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Out of respect for the family, and friends of Jim, if you attend the Rosary or Funeral Mass, we ask that you wear a mask, and try to observe the social distancing of six feet.
