Bob Briley

Bobby Gene “Bob” Briley, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Mercy in Joplin.

Bob was born January 29, 1945 in Joplin, son of the late Gene W. Briley and Bobbi Fox Briley. He attended Duenweg schools before serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he earned a Bronze Star for his service. 

Bob worked as an Electrical lineman in Monett for several years before becoming an independent truck driver which he did until he retired.








In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Albers Briley, who passed away in 2011, his infant daughter, Genie Marie Briley, a granddaughter Kodi Rust, his stepmother Louise Brown, two sisters Diane Hamill, and Jackie Heistand, and nephew Steven Chitwood.

Survivors include his children, Brenda Briley of Diamond, Nancy Briley of Joplin, Brandi Briley Rust of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Brian Briley of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Jake Lauber and his family, Ashley Bartlett and husband Alan, Jesse Parmley, Logan Rust, and Emory Guyanne Briley; several great-grandchildren; brothers Rob Briley, Gene Briley Jr. and wife Teresa all of Seneca; sister Nita Chitwood and husband Darren of Joplin and a host of nieces & nephews.

Memorial service will be Saturday, November 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Risen Ranch Cowboy Church with Pastor Darren Chitwood officiating, and full military honors.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
