(From Clark Funeral Home)Rex Vernon McDermott was born December 16, 1952 in California, but was a lifelong resident of Granby, Missouri. Rex was lovingly known to all of us as ‘Bub’.
Bub passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in his home, surrounded by family. Bub was born to the late Ronald and Quetta (Green) of Granby. Bub enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outside and enjoying his grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Rusty McDermott and wife, Jennifer of Granby, Shane McDermott and his wife, Lisa of Diamond; one daughter, Ericka Boblett and husband, Tim of Neosho, Missouri; a brother, Bruce McDermott and his wife, Billie of Granby; a sister, Geneva Hadley and her husband, Gary of Granby and Mike Barkfelt, brother-in-law of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Taylah Cope and husband, Nick; Aubrey Thomas and husband, Colby; Dustin McDermott, Madison McDermott, Ty McDermott, Logan Boblett, Kinsley Boblett, Ellie Boblett and one great grandson, Kinzer Cope.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Scotty McDermott and sister, Cheryl Barkfelt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his home on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at 1 pm.
