(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Doyle Lee “Bodink” Shields, 65, of Webb City, Missouri, formerly of Seneca, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, while at Mercy Hospital in Carthage, Missouri.
Doyle entered this life on September 6, 1955, in Bakersfield, California, born to the union of Edward Franklin and Loretta (Sharp) Shields. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps.
Doyle retired as the Police Chief from the Seneca Police Department. Doyle loved the Andy Griffith show. Doyle also enjoyed vacationing in San Diego and if he could have lived there, he would have. He spent his free time reading the Bible and having long talks with God. His best friend was his dog, named, Puppy and they went everywhere together. Doyle loved his kids and grandbabies with his whole heart and will always be remembered as a man with a heart of gold and always putting others before himself.
He was preceded in death by his father; his late wife, Vickie Shields; and two children, Edward Lee Shields and Kylee Shields-Grady.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Heather Nicole Shields of the home; children, Zayne and Zavyn both of the home, Joshua Shields and significant other, Lindsey, of Neosho, Jeanette Nicole Wheeler and husband, Matthew, of San Antonio, Texas, Ashlee Wheeler and husband, Daniel, of Seneca, Joshua Mullin and wife, Shaina, of Seneca and Hunter Mullin of the home; eighteen grandchildren with one on the way; one great grandchild; his mother, Loretta Menely of Jay, Oklahoma; four brothers, Larry Shields and wife, Mary, of Southwest City, Mark Shields and wife, Delpha, also of Southwest City, Mike Shields and wife, Debbie, of Jay, Oklahoma and Jerry Shields and wife, Bobbie, also of Jay; his lifelong best friend, Larry “Possum” Law; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
