Bob Payton

Mr. Bob Harrison Payton, 64, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, formerly of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday evening, November 17, 2020, in the comfort of his home with is family by his side after a long battle with cancer.

Bob entered this life on September 9, 1956, in Stockton, California, born to Bob Harrison Adamson and Helen Marie Payton. He was raised in Joplin, Missouri and was a 1974 graduate of Parkwood High School. 

On January 14, 1981, he was united in marriage to the love of his life. Carol Crowder-Pim and we're blessed with two children. He attended and graduated from the Missouri Southern State College EMT/Paramedic Program, a career he enjoyed for over forty years, with the last fifteen years of service with Freeman Ambulance of McDonald County. 








 Bob also taught EMT Classes at Crowder College for several years. He was a member of Duenweg and Pineville Fire Department, where he was a Board member and lieutenant for the department. He enjoyed helping others, fishing and spending countless hours with his family.

His father, Bob Harrison Adamson preceded him in death.

Bob is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Carol Payton of the home; two children, Amie Payton of Joplin and Zachary Payton and wife, Tiara, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Wrenleigh Payton; a soon to be born granddaughter and Bob's name sake Harisynn Payton and grandson Diesel Clayton; two granddaughters Phaze Roeder, Jade Harris, and grandson Mark Roeder II; Bobs mother, Helen Lawson of Joplin; and two siblings, Russell Lawson and wife, Diana, of Joplin and Kathy Spangler and husband, Edwin, also of Joplin; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with his Son in law Mark Roeder officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Ryan Drake, Robert Drake, Lori Byrd, Kalee Sweeten, Greg Sweeten and Ronny King, The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Shop With A Hero Program of McDonald County in honor of Bob.
