(From Simpson Funeral Home)Charles Tom Coyle age 92 of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was born October 10, 1928 in Cherokee County, Kansas to John Coyle and Anna (Brown) Coyle.
Tom graduated from Riverton High School in 1946. He joined the Marines shortly afterwards and served two years in Guam. After returning home, Tom took over the family farm just south of Crestline, Kansas.
He married Claudine Brooks on June 3, 1950 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They were married for 70 years. During his life he raised cattle until 1961, he owned and operated the John Deere Dealership in Pittsburg, Kansas from 1961 to 1971, from 1971 to 1974 Tom and his family lived in Rogers, Arkansas where he owned a Real Estate Company.
In 1974 he moved back to Columbus, Kansas and owned and operated the Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac dealership until retiring in 1987. In 1988 Tom and Claudine moved to Briarbrook in Carl Junction. Tom was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Columbus, Kansas and of the Lions Club in both Columbus, Kansas and Carl Junction, Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Carl Junction. Tom was preceded in death by both parents, and his five older sisters.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Campbell of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a son, Rex Coyle of Joplin, Missouri; a granddaughter, Maegan Erskin and her husband James; three great grandchildren, Kali, Kelton, and Suzanna Erskin all of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Carl Junction Cemetery with Pastor Jeff D. Martin officiating.
